For cyber underwriting and broking
Was this insured already exposed before its first policy? Anteriority is read in the archive, not in the questionnaire.
The market, in 2025
Claims are rising, rates are falling
Premium rates had never fallen so far, claims paid had never risen so fast. When pricing absorbs the gap less well, what happens before signing carries more weight. Source: AMRAE, LUCY 2026 study, covering financial year 2025.
- 83,2M€
- paid out on cyber risk in France in 2025
- +53%
- in one year, while premium rates were falling
- ×4
- the cost of claims for mid-caps year on year
What the archive establishes
Exposure precedes the policy
A scan at underwriting sees a state. It does not say whether the risk was already there six months earlier — which changes both pricing and claims handling.

9months
of exposure predating the policy. The point is not to decline the risk, but to know which one is being taken — and at what price.
Schematic. The dates are illustrative and describe no real case.
Two uses
Underwriting, and helping others underwrite
Carriers, MGAs, reinsurers
A risk's exposure anteriority before it is written, and the same reading across a whole portfolio to prioritise reviews.
Brokers
A report delivered under your own brand, which opens the client conversation instead of closing it with a questionnaire.
Before, and after
The same data serves twice
Before the commitment, exposure anteriority is a selection input that self-declaration does not provide: dated, verifiable, independent of what the applicant chooses to disclose.
Afterwards, the same data places a claim relative to the inception date. That is often where the real question lies, and it is the one thing a scan run on the day of the claim cannot settle.
Try it on your portfolio
A sample of insureds is enough to see what the archive adds to your current questionnaire.
